Kid Kare is a Purpose Built full day care facility geared for the early growth and development of young children. We opened in April 2002, and now cater for 89 children aged 3 months – 12. years. We are members of Early Childhood Ireland, are registered with the NWHB and fully comply with the Child Care Pre School services Regulations 2006. All our playrooms have CCTV and all equipment and furniture is child sized. Sleep rooms are provided. We are situated in a quiet rural location one mile from Donegal town centre towards Laghey.

Kid Kare employs thirteen staff all of whom have up to date childcare training & experience and have successfully completed a recent first aid, fire safety, child protection and a manual handling certificate.

Each age group has their own specially designed rooms which provide a child centred homely environment where the children receive the care and stimulation they need to thrive & grow in every area of their development. A full curriculum is provided to encourage the children to engage in and enjoy a range of activities and staff will strive to guide & nurture the children every step of the way. Kid Kare currently follows the new National Standard - Aistear – The early Childhood Curriculum framework and includes the NIPPA Respecting Differences equal opportunities.

At Kid Kare Crèche & Montessori, Donegal, we believe that having qualified experienced and caring staff is the most important element in any childcare facility. We pride ourselves in our staff being highly qualified and up to date with any new childcare regulations. Kid Kare Crèche has been operated by Owner/Manager Sharon Graham Porter since opening in April 2002. Sharon, a parent herself, graduated with a BTEC National Diploma in childcare, a FETAC level 6 Management award in childcare and a Montessori diploma in teaching, continues to work closely with the local health board and Early Childhood Ireland to continuously improve the childcare service she provides.

All of our staff at Kid Kare has to have up to date childcare training, first aid certificates and attend on-going training in health and safety, manual handling and other training courses with the National Childcare Nurseries Association and local Childcare committee. All staff has to have Garda Vetting.

Each child in our care has an individual key worker. Key workers complete termly reports on the children’s development in the key areas of learning - physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional and social development. At Kid Kare we recognise a child’s first educator is the parent. We value the contribution parents have in supporting their child’s learning at home. Staffs communicate with parents and discuss their child’s progress on a regular basis. You are welcome to come in at any time of the day to visit your child, especially during the settling in period. We also run Parent Educare evenings and give you all our on-going facility news through our regular newsletters.
